Nutrition For Your Intuition

Today, I want to focus my post on improving intuition with a healthy diet. In my previous “Just Because” posts, I have written numerous times that everyone has some level of intuition or instincts. That doesn’t mean they are psychic mediums or psychics. Intuition is an extra sense (some say a sixth sense) that depending on your views have either been passed down by our forefathers or have been evolved through thousands of years in humankind. One of the issues I have dealt with in my journey is the difference between my psychic mediumship abilities and others’ intuition powers. The difference is pretty simple. Intuition is an instinct, it is used to escape and avoid harm-both physical and emotional. Psychic mediumship is being able to read other beings or spirits’ aura or energy. Not everyone can do that. However, this doesn’t mean that our dietary needs and your needs are any different. Like any doctor would recommend, an active lifestyle filled with exercise and healthy diet is essential for preventing disease. But, according to Doreen Virtue (a psychic and also a PHD in nutritional science), foods can boost or hinder your natural intuitive abilities as well. You may feel depressed, lazy, have lack of energy, and pretty much feel stuck in life if you are not fueling your body and intuition with superfoods. So let us begin:

Many individuals experience an increase in their energy or their intuition by letting go of animal products and sugar. In fact, any food we eat in excess is going to become an issue. One way is to keep a food journal to track your nutrition and feelings/mood once in a while. Keeping a journal for about two weeks every few months is a great way to reflect on which food effects your mood in a negative way and which gives you more energy. Doreen even mirrors proverbially what our Prophet Muhammed PBUH advised-to eat slowly and calmly. According to Doreen, if you are calm and relaxed while eating, you will consume slowly and the food will be digested slowly as well. On the other hand, eating in a hurried manner creates a ripple effect of that energy and vibration. You will feel stuffed, nauseated, and bloated.

When you incorporate the following dietary changes in your life, do it slowly and systematically. If all of a sudden you stop eating animal products or just eat organic, it will do no good. Do it gradually.

Superfoods:

All greens are healthy, but there are some more beneficial than others. Kale and sprouts are at the top of the list. Packed with nutrients such as calcium, vitamin C and A, omega-3 fatty acids, and protein they resonate with the heart chakra, healing us emotionally as well. Chlorella is another superfood that you can find in a health food store or online. It is an excellent for detoxing heavy metals and also helps remove negative influences from your life (if you feel happy and light inside, you attract that energy from outside-simple as that).

Water in soup or just as it is a great way to get the cleansing your body and chakras need. Making soup is like creating a mixture of energy and nutrition. The flavors from the different vegetables and herbs are infused into the water, and on an energetic level, the vibrations of the pure, filtered water clean out the toxic compounds in your body and energy. You can also add legumes which are very earthy, filling, and have nutritional value of proteins.

Coconut Water is a natural source of electrolytes, which help hydrate the body. Energetically, coconut water allows all the components of your body to “talk” to one and another. It’s a wonderful drink for post-workouts or if you’ve felt stuck or lacked motivation.

Maca is a superfood of the Incas and helps you cope with stress physically and mentally. It can also have a balancing effect on your metabolisms and hormones. Traditionally, it has been used to support menopause, boost the immune system, and promote vitality. On an energetic level, Maca helps you clear away negative energies.

Fruits:

All organic, locally-produced fruits are great options for you. I want to enlighten you with some widely obscure ones you can try. These fruits can’t be found in Northern America, but can be bought in powder form that is great to use in smoothies or juices. Remember to buy certified organic. Acai comes from the Amazon rainforest. It is a powerful antioxidant which combats signs of aging. It also contains omega -3, omega-6, and omega-9 that can help enhance your natural beauty. It brings shone and strength to your hair, and smoothness and glow to your skin. In fact, in Brazil, it called that “Beauty Berry”. You will feel young at heart when you take this. As it resonates with the third eye chakra, it helps clear negative thoughts and gives you courage to go on.

Camu Camu is used by people in Peru and found in the Amazon rainforest. It has loads of natural vitamin C and hence, can boost your immune system and fight viral infections. It is also used to strengthen the nervous system and enhance mental performance. On an energetic level, it is great for sensitive people. If you feel overwhelmed or anxious in crowds, Camu Camu shields your aura.

Goji Berries have been used by the Chinese for thousands of years. They boost your chi, or life force, which the chakras run on. Nutritionally, these berries promote longevity. They contain 18 amino acids and include 8 essential amino acids. Monks taking them are said to have lived for 100 years.

Maqui berries bring strength and stamina. They can come in powder form and are helpful in the aging process, and the cardiovascular system.

Nuts, Seeds, and Non-Diary Milks:

Nuts and seeds are healthy snacks that contain protein, good fats, and fiber. They also contain enzyme inhibitors which may put extra strain on your body and in your energy levels. That’s why it is recommended to eat them in moderation. Nuts such as almonds, peanuts, hazelnuts, macadamias, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds are all great dietary options to munch on sparingly!

My Instagram followers may know that I now drink almond milk in my teas. I hope to eventually be completely non-dairy, but right now baby steps are important. According to Doreen, our bodies were never designed to digest dairy products, which create inflammation and irritation, not to mention take longer to digest. However, plant-based milks are much more soft and nourishing to your body. They provide abundant vitamins, minerals, and healthy oils, as well as protein and fiber. These non-diary milks can be used in smoothies, cereals, and desserts as well. I am not sure about baking. What kind plant-based milks are available for us? The list is quite long-sunflower milk, pumpkin seed milk, hazelnut milk, Brazil-nut milk, cashew milk, brown-rice milk, macadamia milk, and almond milk all provide a smooth, earthy taste, plus fewer calories than dairy.

I swear by the recommendation. After drinking almond milk for the last four months, I have lost weight and feel lighter and happier in general.

Teas:

Tea leaves are herbs that can treat a wide variety of ailments.

Chamomile helps attract abundance. It relaxes your energy, which allows you to become more aware of your surroundings and be more receptive to messages the world is giving you.

Fennel tea can help reduce sugar cravings. Sugar can clog your chakras and also your arteries (lol).

Hibiscus tea allows you to be more sensitive and bring loved ones together. It heals past wounds and promotes forgiveness.

Lavender tea relaxes your mind and resonates with the third eye chakra. It brings deeper spiritual understanding.

Peppermint or Spearmint Tea is great for your throat chakra. This tea opens this chakra allowing you to be more confident in speaking the truth.

It is not new-age thinking that eating affects your life on every level. Today, you learned that it affects a body on an energetic level as well. “You are what you eat” is a common saying. If you eat healthy, you are generally happy, active, and have a clear guidance to your life purpose because you are receptive to it on an energetic level. Why am I telling you this? Just because I want my readers to be healthy and wealthy.
