Doing Card Readings
I never believed in horoscopes, mainly not because they were so general, but because they told me the opposite of how I felt and experienced. Don’t get me wrong, astrology is real and can be accurate if done by someone knowledgeable and talented. But, like anything else, you need to go to the right person. I got into oracle card reading last year in a spiritual class. My mentor/teacher laid out five Doreen Virtue Archangel cards and told us to do the same. I never realized what a momentous point that was. As I stared at the five cards laid out to me, I began to see visions and feel messages and words that helped me and others in the class. I learned then that for someone new in this business or someone who has questions can be guided by the intuition sent to them by God and these cards frame those messages.
So today I decided that I will teach my readers how I do card readings. Everyone does it differently. Doreen Virtue in her video does it a certain way and someone else will tell you another way. I recommend doing it in a way that speaks to you or is natural to you. Trust me, you can’t mess up. God wants to help you and live a life full of possibilities, so all you have to do is ask. So here goes:
These type of oracle cards, be it fairy cards, angel cards, or archangel cards have a similar organization. Each card has a picture and a few words for guidance. This is what I do. I touch each card in the deck then shuffle it while praying to God. Once the prayer is done, I ask a question (aloud or to myself) and remove five cards from the top of the deck. After the cards have been laid out, I immediately glance over each card to see if anything jumps out. I write down any word and symbol that stand out. Then I begin reading the word messages on the cards and note what words and feelings I am getting. I write those feelings and words down. After analyzing the messages, I look at the pictures again. This time I look for colors and expressions. I note down what I see and feel then as well.
After the reading is done, I type my notes in full sentences and see if there is a reoccurring message or messages in it. And I always find the answers to your question.
I have been using the Rider Tarot deck for almost a year and I still don’t consider myself an expert. There are many spreads that you can learn via YouTube or in a class, but I do it very simply. I have the corresponding book, which you can purchase HERE and it guides me while I look for symbols on these cards.
Tarot cards are different than oracle cards. They are completely pictorial and the way to derive messages is to seek out symbols and their associated meanings. I personally don’t do spreads because to me they are too complicated and slow down the process of how I receive messages. This is the way I do it. Similarly to the method explained above, I touch each card and then shuffle the deck while praying. While shuffling, I ask a question. Then pull out a card from the deck. This card you can take out daily, weekly, or monthly as a guide to your life issues. I mentioned in a previous post, it is recommended not to ask the same question(s) over and over again. It taints the process and you end up being confused and agnostic about the answers. Trust the answers you get the first time you asked the question.
Once a card is pulled, refer to the guide book to understand important symbols (those that jump out to you) and look up their associated meanings. This time I look for meanings given to me in the book, rather than using my intuition. There is no reason I do that, it is just the way it is. The book I recommended is great because it gives a life prognosis or your personality tendencies, in addition to guiding you towards the right path.
Well my friends, this is how I do card readings. You can use my methods as a guide to do your own readings or come up with a method that supports your stream of unconsciousness or intuition. Why? Just because as humans we look for different ways to talk to God and this is one of many I recommend.
